Vanessa Tan

Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Vanessa Tan was appointed to the position of Deputy CEO in July 2016 and works alongside CEO Saw Thiam Hin to drive strategies and direction throughout the organization.


Before her appointment to the position of Deputy CEO, Vanessa was the Senior Vice President of Branding and Communications for the HTC Group, a position she held since 2012. Operating in a cross-functional teams setting, she worked closely with the Sales & Marketing team and developed marketing plans to ensure the company’s consistent and effective brand presence and image. She also led a team responsible for implementing communication strategies for both corporate and employee initiatives.


In 2010, Vanessa was assigned to work on a special banking project in Hong Kong where she initiated, developed and implemented growth opportunities for the company with international banks like HSBC and Bank of China. It was during this period that she learned the depth of HTC’s international business.


Vanessa graduated from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, USA, where she majored in Management and Information Technology.


She joined HTC in February 2004 as a Specialist in Branding and Communications soon after relocating home from USA. She led various successful public relations initiatives and undertook the rebranding of the company’s marketing collaterals.


Taking up the baton together with Saw to continue the success of HTC, Vanessa is appreciative of the solid company values that the HTC Group Founder, Harres has established over the years, which will be her guiding principles in the many years to come.
