Vikneswaran Varutharaju

Vikneswaran was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President of Technical Services in July 2016, reporting to Technical Director Jimmy Ng. He is responsible for the systems design, development & implementation, as well as support services of HTC’s banking division and has played pivotal roles in various large banking projects in Hong Kong, Africa and Middle East. His strength lies in his sharp project management skills – leading a dynamic team of people to deliver solutions and provide technical support despite the constraints of geographical locations and time zones.
Working with his team of developers who are not afraid to be challenged, Vikneswaran is ever ready to take on new and unique projects. He leads his team by example and through his personal experience of how he was groomed in his early years at HTC. He believes that people must be provided with the freedom to learn and grow according to each individual’s pace, whilst given sufficient support in terms of training and guidance.
Vikneswaran join HTC in 2003 immediately after graduating as a Software Developer and was looking to work in an established company where he could grow and excel quickly.
He recalled his most significant project in his early days when he was assigned to lead a team on a 4-year long project for Ambank which entailed creating a comprehensive web solution for the bank, and later grooming its employees to use and manage the system.
Vikneswaran shared that his motivation comes from his curiosity and insatiable thirst for knowledge. He has always been inspired by HTC Founder Harres Tan’s vision and drive in leading the company.
