Tan Sze Chi
SVP Technical Services
Tan Sze Chi was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President of Technical Services in July 2016, reporting to Technical Director Jimmy Ng. He leads a team of dynamic people that forms HTC’s IT support services and products training division.
Tan’s leadership style is one that mirrors his own personality whereby flexibility is what makes him a leader in his own right. “Put me where there is an issue or shortage, and I will be quick to adapt and take responsibilities.”
A person who pays attention to details, Tan’s knowledge of all of HTC’s software and hardware product offerings is extensive. Combined with his acute project planning and management skills, he possesses a fine eye for his team’s project timelines, deadlines and the quality of their deliverables.
His vast experience gained from hands-on work done for HTC’s banking and healthcare projects throughout the region and globally over the years has especially sharpened his skills in “ad-hoc” troubleshooting that requires him to act and look for solutions based on little information.
The highlight of Tan’s career was his assignment to lead a conversion project for courier company City Link to convert the company’s existing character-based operating system to a Windows-based system, using UNIFY database tools. It was during the course of this project that Tan met his wife, who was one of the technical personnel assigned by City Link to oversee this project!
Tan joined HTC in 1999 as a Systems Engineer shortly after completing his degree in Information Technology. He shared that he values the opportunity that he has had to work closely with HTC’s senior leadership since his early years.
